Emotions are powerful.

Our inner compass, when in full function, helps us follow our hearts to what we want in life. This compass is even more heightened throughout pregnancy to guide us and help us. Often, there is a disconnect between what we want and our behaviors. That's where hypnotherapy can be so useful.

If breastfeeding is something you want to do, getting the help you need early on,  is the one true predictor of success.

Relationships are impacting.

Our relationships with our partners teach our  babies how to be loved and accepted.

I help moms have better births. It's about healthy babies AND healthy moms and families.

My goal is to give moms like you the tools to have the birth of your dreams. I'll help you discover that your babies are aware and help you and your family connect and be prepared for your birth and beyond.

Rachel is a holistic nurse.

Her passion is working with  families through the  childbearing and breastfeeding years. Struggling in bonding with your unborn or newborn baby? Perhaps, you are afraid of the impending labor and birth? Are you and your partner having a hard time connecting? Maybe you've had your baby and are trying to breastfeed, but it's just not working?

BIOGRAPHY

Rachel received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Miami in Coral Gables. She returned  to Kansas City at the end of 2006. The plan was to start working right away.  Before she could make this dream a reality, she became very sick. Riddled with chronic infections and aches, she was frustrated her twenties were moving by her, bedridden. A couple of years of investigation and numerous doctors appointments led her to the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. Years before, she was diagnosed with polycysitc ovarian syndrome, and this was only complicating the picture to help find a resolution.

In the years following, she nursed herself back to health (with the help of her supportive husband), finding a specialized diet. specific supplements, and daily yoga to aid her in her body’s healing. Only to find this was the beginning of her healing journey.

Fast forward to 2009,  she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. After suffering with PTSD related to the labor and birth of her first son, even more was necessary to create space for healing.  In navigating and finding help,  she opened the gates to her own personal mind, body, and spiritual growth.  She experimented with eastern and modern modalities including chiropractic, homeopathy & herbs, nutrition, meditation, EFT, EMDR, hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, acupuncture  Zumba, and daily meditation.

It was through her experience in becoming a mother, overcoming PTSD, and fighting to successfully breastfeed her baby that her deep passion unfolded into reality in working with mothers and babies.

Her youngest son was born in December of 2014. She had an Earth Shattering, incredibly fullfilling, gentle HypnoBirthing birth with him. She was surrounded by an incredible team to support her through her growth. She and her husband only grew closer.

Breastfeeding the second go round was much, much simpler. Because of her experience and education in breastfeeding she quickly identified her baby’s upper lip tie, though minor, it required some extra help.  With a few physical adjustments  and a lip tie revision with body work, they are still successfully nursing today. This reawakened her interest in bodywork to help reduce tension in the body. She will soon be offering this service to families and babies as well.

Aside from the experience she brings being a mom, she is a registered nurse, HypnoBirthing Educator through the HypnoBirthing Institute: The Mongan Method,  a Certified Heart-Centered Hypnotherapist through the Wellness Institute, and a Certified Breastfeeding Educator through Deb Bocar’s, Lactation Consultant Services. In November, Rachel will be training in body release for trauma

Her love for her boys, as well as her passion for birth, babies and breastfeeding, has helped lead her into her calling.

Rachel lives in Overland Park with her Husband Brian, their two boys Akiva and Jacob, and their dog Zooey. In her spare time, Rachel loves to Zumba, do yoga, take walks, bake anything, cook Paleo and read a good book.
